- Captured February 1865 near United Methodist Church at Spring Place, GA by Union soldiers.
Enemy immediately driven off, but he had been shot and his horse killed. The same day his father got him and carried him home. His wound prevented him from returning. His company surrendered May 12, 1865 at Kingston, GA.
